No Tobacco Pledge in educational institutions of the Division |

Under National Tobacco Control Programme ,on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, falling on 2 nd October 2019, a pledge ceremony was organized in various educational institutions of Jammu Division wherein school and college students took a pledge to never smoke or use Tobacco products and also to motivate family and acquaintances to refrain from using tobacco in any form .They also pledged to keep the campus of their educational institutions Tobacco free. This was organized to make people committed to keep themselves away from tobacco use. A total of 11, 504 students in 107 educational institutions of the Division participated in the activity. |

Tobacco Cessation Centre(TCC) under National Tobacco Control Programme is functional at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu. .It is located in OPD building of the Hospital. The TCC services are available every Saturday through a trained Counselor and Psychiatrist .Drugs have been made available to help people in their efforts to quit tobacco. |
